Dear Michigan sisters, Dear Michigan Sisters -
The Michigan State Board is very aware that we are facing some challenging and potentially significant issues with coronavirus/COVID-19 being present in some Michigan communities. Careful monitoring of the situation and the guidance by experts is our best path forward when looking at our upcoming large group events: Officer Training sessions and especially our State Convention. At this time, we are still planning on holding Officer Training and State Convention. Please look for updates and information on the state website and through email distribution. The following was received on Wednesday afternoon (3/11) from Brenda Atchison, President of International Chapter: I am reaching out in loving concern to your members of your s/p/d chapter. As we continue to monitor the developments with the COVID-19 virus, International Chapter has formed an internal response team. We have been looking at venue contracts, reviewing bylaws and staying briefed on the evolving situation and recommendations for public health safety. All our pertinent contracts are under review so as to mitigate costs if cancellation is required. Please know that our Convention date in early June allows us time to monitor the situation and we feel that any change now to this scheduled event is premature. As P.E.O. sisters, we always face any situation with loving concern for each member. And while hugging is being replaced with elbow bumps, know that the Michigan State Board shares warm HUGS with each of you. The Michigan State Executive Board Karen, Lisa, Sue, Barb, Pam Comments are closed.
